6) When an electron absorbs energy it jumps to a higher quantum, which then causes the electron to spin/move faster through out the energy level. When an electron releases energy it would fall into the lower quantum that then cause the electron to move slower not rotating as fast.

7) This statement means that each element has its own configuration of spectral lines, no two elements are exactly identical. When recording the spectral lines of an element these lines will be completely unique to this element. The spectral line could also be used to identify elements if the know configuration was known.

8) a. Fireworks create a variety of different color when exploding because of the gases being heated and emitting light. When the materials used to create fireworks are heated within their cylinder cover they begin to create light, which then explodes, and the contents go everywhere, displaying the light.
b. Some of the compounds that could be used to create specific firework colors could be xenon to create a blue, neon for a bright orange, chlorine for a light purple. Some of the difficulties that could arise would be that the elements may not react well together, it wouldn’t work. Or the light may not last enough time, burn out to quick.
